Richard Whiting

Richard G. Whiting received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University, Miami Florida, and Juris Doctorate Degree from The University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. Upon graduation Richard was awarded The Order of The Wig and Robe, and The Order of the Coif by the University.

Richard has been a presenter and speaker through the years at Continuing Legal Education Seminars attended by South Carolina judges and attorneys. He has been honored to be selected to speak at the South Carolina New Judges School and has served as a guest lecturer at the University Of South Carolina School Of Law. Richard has taught at the National Conference of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a national organization of approximately 1,600 prominent Family Court attorneys located throughout the United States. Richard has been found qualified to testify as an expert in the area of Family Law by the South Carolina Courts.

Richard has been an active member of the South Carolina Bar for 34 years, where he has served in multiple capacities including being voted by his colleagues as a member of the House of Delegates. Richard has served as President of the Family Law Section of the Bar and held various other positions within the Family Law Section.

Richard and his wife, Carolyn, met at Presbyterian College and have been married over 40 years with three grown children and four grandchildren. Richard is an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina serving as Deacon.
